Tissot Presents: NBA Style Watch All Star Weekend 2019

Solid Marketing Group partnered with Tissot (the official timekeeper of the NBA) to bring a unique experience to All Star weekend. We created the NBA Style Watch panel were our star panel discussed fashion, sneaker, and the culture of the NBA.

Our panel included Sneaker King Houston Rockets Forward Pj Tucker, Grammy nominated Hip Hop producer and professor 9th Wonder, NBA stylist Caylann Barnett, and Sole Individual (Sneaker Media Outlet) founder Rico Lyndsey. Fans crowded around the Tissot Style Lounge in downtown Charlotte to enjoy cool activations and real conversations on NBA style!


Dorian Finney Smith Basketball Clinic

Dorian Finney Smith (of Dallas Mavericks). We focused on partnering his philanthropy brand: Finney Family First foundation to corporate sponsors Dicks Sporting Goods and Papa Johns Pizza. He hosted a community weekend in his hometown of Portsmouth VA, that was a huge success.


First Annual Mark Barron Football Camp 

 

SMG partnered with CAA and Mark Barron to create an experience for kids in the Mobile AL to learn the fundamentals from Los Angeles Rams standout LB Mark Barron. The camp was conducted by head trainer Rich Myers of D1 Mobile (top training facility) and former players in the Mobile area. 

The camp was a huge success and a great turnout from the wonderful Mobile area. Mark is looking to grow his philanthropy endeavors and plans to continue to give back to his community.


The Creative Jam

 Solid Marketing Group and VisionFuel presents: The Creative Jam (A National Black Theater Festival Event) . This event was a panel discussion that featured young entrepreneurs and creative professionals that are either from or associated with Winston Salem NC. These experts in various industries and was able to give their perspective on entrepreneurship and the culture of their industries.

This panel gave advice to millennials on how to jump start their careers, build their brand, and run their social media effectively.

9th Wonder spoke on his journey of starting his own record label Jamla Records. 9th emphasized the business aspects of the music industry (of course), but also his other struggles as an entrepreneur as well. 

SMG's President Drew Church, shared his perspective on entrepreneurship. He also desrcibed ways in developing a successful brand in the sports industry. Check out the recap to learn more!


#FarewellTour

SMG and Chris Hairston put together a # FarewellTour with hopes of giving back and showing appreciation to the beautiful city of San Diego for 56 years of support of the Chargers organization. 

Ciros Pizza Bar, Anejo Mexican Grill, Palyworks SoCal and the San Diego Naval Base Boys and Girls Club Program partnered with us to make this 2 day event a success. Fox Sports San Diego came out and captured every great moment. Fans had the opportunity to hang out and engage in conversation with Chris at each venue. Chris and crew also surprised a group of "super" Charger fans by popping up at their house and presenting them with autographed memorabilia. 

The two days were such a success that SMG is planning to do it again before the big move to LA!

Chris Hairston decided to drop by Perkins K-8 School in San Diego, CA to speak to approximately 100 pre-selected students about the importance of education and life principals. During his visit, Chris donated 100 brand new sneakers to each student! Additionally, students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive signed autographs from Chris. The students had a great time during Chris' surprise visit and ended the day by verbally committing themselves to achieving academic excellence.

#TheSneakerDrive

Solid Marketing Group, decided to partner with Rosewood Sneaker Boutique for the first Annual Sneaker Drive hosted by Chris Hairston of the San Diego Chargers. The community had the opportunity to donate lightly used and new kid size sneakers. After a donation was made, each individual was entered in a raffle to win autographed memorabilia from the San Diego Chargers. Shoes that were donated went to local San Diego kids in need.

According to chargers.com, Hairston said “I want to make my presence known. Because of who we are, you have to embrace being a role model if you want to affect change.” Due to Hairston's philanthropy, we were able to collect over 250 pairs of sneakers during the event. Overall, the sneaker drive was a great success for the community, Chris Hairston, and Solid Marketing Group.


Chris Hairston First Annual Football Clinic

Chris Hairston hosted his first annual Football Clinic at his Alma mater of Carver High School in Winston - Salem NC. Kids from the ages 6-15 came excited to learn the game of football and to also have a good time. Hairston and staff focused on the fundamentals of the game and stressed the importance of excelling in the classroom as well as on the field. According to the W-S Chronicle Hairston said,"I just wanted to do something back at home where we could get the Carver community and the rest of Winston-Salem out to have a good time and to learn from each other,” The game of football is a game that can give you a lot but in order to earn it you must set your mind to it and take care of your business in the classroom.”.
